My name is John Daulton. I write for independent automotive repair businesses because they need a voice. You need a voice. The internet is a battlefield where the well-funded mega-companies can outproduce small auto repair businesses in terms of website content and marketing content in all its forms. The big guys have teams of writers and marketing folks to create or manage outsourced automotive website content. They do with volume what I can help your shop do with quality, consistency, and good advice.
I have 34 years automotive aftermarket experience, 12 of them in automotive specialty marketing, and I'm a bestselling novelist with a Master's degree in writing. I am one of you, and I am on your side.
For years I've listened to stories of shop owners trying to compete. Trying to grow their businesses. Trying to just show up on Google somewhere. As Bill Gates famously said, "Content is King." He meant it. Having a website is fine. Having a blog is fine. But if there's nothing on there for people to see, or nothing new and engaging, well, that's not what Bill Gates meant when he said "content." Make it good, make it regularly, or don't make it at all.
The automotive aftermarket has been good to me. I've made a comfortable living for over three decades, and I still work for a big automotive marketing and software company. As my kids are now older, I have time to do something to help others in the industry. My talents are people, communication, automotive marketing, and prose (which is a fancy word for writing stuff).
